Think About It

The Solid Rock

Verse 1
My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness;

I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus’ name.

Chorus
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand
All other ground is sinking sand,
All other ground is sinking sand.

Verse 2
When darkness veils His lovely face,
I rest on His unchanging grace;

In every high and stormy gale
My anchor holds with-in the veil.

Chorus
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand
All other ground is sinking sand,
All other ground is sinking sand.

Verse 3
His oath, His covenant, His blood
Support me in the whelming flood

When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my hope and stay.

Chorus
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand
All other ground is sinking sand,
All other ground is sinking sand.

Verse 4
When He shall come with trumpet sound,
O may I then in Him be found,

Dressed in His righteousness alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne.

Chorus
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand
All other ground is sinking sand,
All other ground is sinking sand.

The Sinking Sand

Verse 1
My hope is built on nothing less
Than a stable economy in the U.S;

I dare not trust in Jesus’ future reign,
But wholly lean on financial gain.

Chorus
On the stock exchange I stand
Only a bull run fits my plan,
I want more I must expand.

Verse 2
When my poor choices veil His face,
I blame my parents, my spouse, my race;

If I get caught please send me mail
It’s not my fault I’m stuck in jail.

Chorus
Keep blaming others that’s my plan
I’m not responsible for this jam,
Reasonable doubt and I’m a free man.

Verse 3
It’s just organized tissue says a growing flood,
Support my right to take innocent blood;

When I feel guilty and tears give way,
I hope my pain will fade away.

Chorus
The wombs a tomb on that I stand
It’s my body, don’t upset my plans,
If there’s a God He’ll understand.

Verse 4
When life is over and there’s no sound,
Just throw my ashes on the ground;

Dressed in my finest, but now alone,
I hope there is no judgment throne.

Chorus
On power and pleasure I took my stand
I did it my way, my own plan,
The parties over but now I am damned.
